Aimed at students aged between 12 and 16 years, IMechE Greenpower gives young people hands-on experience in engineering as well as project management, team building and budget control. Teams of students design, build and race electrically powered racing cars. Each car is powered by a standard 24-volt electric motor and 12-volt lead/acid batteries. Now in its tenth year of operation in the United Kingdom, IMechE Greenpower has grown to become a major national programme engaging hundreds of students and schools across the country.

FISITA supports IMechE Greenpower, an exciting and challenging competition with proven success in encouraging school age students to pursue careers in automotive engineering.
The BAJA and Mini BAJA competitions is where university students plan, design, and build off-road vehicles that must survive the severe punishment of rough terrain. These events provide student members with a challenging competition that involves all aspects of automotive engineering to make a vehicle more powerful, faster and safer.
